Certified distances, but why?
The courses of the Baloise Namur Marathon and the Baloise Namur Half Marathon, which will take place on 12 April 2026, have been certified by World Athletics and the AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
The certification was carried out on 16 February 2025 by official surveyors, in the presence of the police to ensure safety. Both distances were measured in one go, without any problems, and with the necessary adjustments to ensure absolute accuracy.
📏 Accurately measured course
Marathon
- Exact distance: 42.195 km
- Surface: asphalt, pavements, cobblestones
- Very slight elevation difference (0.029 m/km)
- Start: 80.10 m | Finish: 78.87 m
Half Marathon

- Surface: asphalt, pavements, cobblestones

The entire course is accessible across its full width or on reserved lanes to ensure a smooth and safe race. Special attention will be paid to the corners, which will be clearly marked to prevent drivers from accidentally leaving the course.
🌍 International recognition for your achievements
This certification is an important step in the development of the event. It guarantees runners an accurate and internationally recognised distance, which is essential for:
• having the achievements made during the race officially certified;
• qualifying for major events;
• have national or world records recognised, provided that the other technical criteria are met.
Are you preparing for a personal best or a qualification? Are you looking for a reliable course in an urban environment with a unique setting? Then the Baloise Namur Marathon is just the race for you.
📅 See you on 12 April 2026 in Namur!
